Our Armed Forces Champions and how they can support you

To help identify and support patients and their families who are members of the Armed Forces Community, Salisbury District Hospital has created a network of Armed Forces Champions across the organisation.

Comprising of over 200 amazing members of staff, these volunteer individuals have stepped up to accept this very important role. Our Armed Forces Champions can be nurses, therapists, receptionists, porters, doctors, or any member of hospital staff. Having completed dedicated training for the role, their aim is to go above and beyond the usual support provided by the hospital, to ensure that Armed Forces Community members receive the care they need. This training includes Trauma Informed Veteran Awareness Training (TIVAT), working together to promote our culture as a Trauma Informed organisation, continuously learning and developing how we support our Armed Forces community.

To help you, our Armed Forces Champions can be identified when wearing the badge below:

Our Armed Forces Champions will often liaise with partner organisations such as , and many others and possibly signpost patients to other resources.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of СÓŶÌÊÓƵ Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
